I read a couple reviews where they mention it's also a comedy where you will have good laughs. I can assure you there is absolutely nothing to laugh with in this movie. It's not a comedy and I don't get why people would write such things. But it's certainly not a bad movie. It's a movie full of twists and suspense. A crime thriller that will entertain you from the first till the last second. It deserves a solid seven stars rating and I would even score it a bit higher if it was not for that terrible language that is Korean. I wonder if they think the same about our languages. Well at least that's my point of view about Korean. It just sounds like they are always mad when they speak. It's not the first South-Korean movie I saw and it won't be the last. They make really good movies and I will just get over it that I don't like their language. The cast is also good. Sun-kyun Lee is a good actor as well as the others. I wouldn't read too much about it before watching it so the story won't get spoiled.

A solid South-Korean crime thrillerReviewed byThe CouchpotatoesVote: 7/10
Black comedy with a corrupt detective attempting to cover up his tracks after an accidental vehicular homicide on the way to his mother's funeral. Of course, events get complicated in an amusing fashion, at times reaching an almost Weekend at Bernie's level of silliness. Film rides a fine line between gangster comedy and violent criminal drama, and manages to strike an even tone between. Charismatic and soothingly baritone voiced lead Lee Sun-Kyun's climactic showdown with a menacing rival cop is brutal and almost as much fun as the ride to get there. Sun- Kyun is a talented leading man who, in a better world, would be acting in major Hollywood films.
A Hard Day ends up occupying the same mix of action and humor that Kiss Kiss Bang Bang or the more recent Nice Guys do so well. The film is writer/director Seong-hoon Kim's second since 2006; hopefully the next will arrive quicker.
I saw the film as it was opening a great festival I like. I knew nothing about it (name included). A police officer drives to his mothers funeral, he gets a message from his wife that she wants a divorce and accidentally hits someone with his car. He puts the body in the trunk and later hides it into his mother's coffin. The film is as black as can be. Divorces, deaths, violence... If things can go bad, they will go even worse. A hard day in life of police officer. So many things happening. When you hope he got away, you see has only fallen deeper. I totally laughed half of the film. It was so black it was almost a parody. I loved every minute of it.
