The Synopsis for Avalon High (2010) 720p

Allie Pennington, the daughter of two Knights-of-the-Round-Table scholars, begins classes at Avalon High where, new to the area, she slowly discovers herself involved in the prophecy of King Arthur's reincarnation. Her being there is no accident. The Order of the Bear, an ancient secret society awaiting Arthur's return, may be at hand, and Allie's own parents, if not members of the Order, are at least Order wannabes. Allie becomes quickly linked to two classmates: Will, the school's revered pretty-boy quarterback (whose girlfriend is having relations on the side with his best friend, and whose dark, brooding step-brother lurks about threateningly), is the most obvious Arthur candidate. Miles, the observant and witty school geek, suffers psychic flashes that always prove true and may be the reincarnation of Merlin. As the Arthur prophecy seems to indeed be unfolding before her, Allie finds herself in the protectorate role, guarding Will against the forces of Mordred who're out to ...

ever since High School Musical came out on Disney Channel, Disney hasbeen trying for many years to make anything close to it. but i have tosay, this movie was surprisingly good compared to what has beenattempted before. other movies have been no more than hectic clichésand very sad, cheesy story lines. This one, not only being a verydifferent story line, did not contain cheesy or bad acting or storyline. i thoroughly enjoyed this one and although it didn't come closeto HSM, it was very well done :) a message to other reviewers, please,if you don't like a movie, by all means, share your thoughts andfeelings but in a civilized way. sometimes some of you can be to harsh.its not wrong to dislike something, but just try be a little morepolite when stating what is wrong with it :) thanks :)

I happen to be a huge Meg Cabot fan, and i loved the book. i was ofcourse totally disappointed. they changed the whole plot to make itinto some weird girl power rubbish.characters names, attitudes, insanely important themes all missing. they introduced like 3 newpeople, changed ELLIE'S name, changed the story's antagonist, and manyother things. the acting was fine though, and possibly, had they notmassacred Meg Cabot's amazing book, i would not have hated it.unfortunately, that is not the case. They also had nothing to do withthe legend, thanks to the changes. hopefully, one day, Disney channelwill stop screwing up my favourite things.

This is not your average review and this is not your average movie.

Imagine a world when someone not familiar with western culture stumblesonto a random Harry Potter movie? Or a Matrix entry? Do you think withno prior point of reference they would "get" the film as intended? Mypoint is this -- I am a big fan of the Arthur legend and have read alot about it, both fiction and non-fiction. I am one of several millionpeople (approximately) who finds the core story moving and compellingand almost visceral.

This movie, which even a casual observer will see does not follow the"usual" Disney formula, and is almost entirely plot-driven, and wasclearly written by a Arthur buff. And if you are an Arthur buff whenyou see it, it will have much more impact than the reviews here wouldindicate.

So, that said, this is a solid film and a young Britt Robertson hasmore than enough charm to keep things moving to the conclusion.

For those intrigued by the POV expressed in this review and want more,I suggest Excalibur (1981) for film buffs and "The Forever King" byMolly Cochrane for readers.

It will be well worth the effort.
