OK, this is a massive LOL. A big enough LOL that it gets a higher rating than the first two movies. It's HILARIOUS observing the difference between Death Wish 2 and Death Wish 3. I feel that in Death Wish 2, director Michael Winner was still attempting to make a film with some level of taste and credibility, but in 3 he abandons all grounding and simply lights fireworks by way of fart-enhanced flames - and it works wonderfully. This pretty much straight-up feels like a Troma film. The gang looks and feels ridiculous - SO FAR off from anything that would ever occur in reality. The good characters all feel like shoe-in's, completed unrelated to anything that happens in the first two. All of the dialogue is hammy and overacted. Movies don't get much more 80's than this. It has all the elements of 80's camp, firing on 10. Bronson strolls around casually like he could give two craps, and apparently that was his attitude in reality when they made this movie, so, in the end, it works for his bizarrely stoic and unassuming character. The entire last half hour is full-on blowout and it feels like a live action NES game, 100%. I really think if it weren't for the Death Wish trilogy we probably wouldn't have all the best/worst of the Stallone/Seagal/Van Damme/Schrwarzenegger movies that we got in the 80's and 90's. Bravo.

Live action NES game - doing Troma better than TromaReviewed byStay_away_from_the_MetropolVote: 8/10
Am I laughing with "Death Wish 3" or laughing at it? I'm laughing with it. It's over-the-top in its craziness and violence but I don't think we're supposed to take it too seriously. This might not be saying much but "Death Wish 3" is easily the best of the "Death Wish" sequels. One thing that this movie has over Parts 1 & 2 is that the rape scenes aren't nearly as cringe worthy. I never felt the need to hit the fast forward button. "Death Wish 3" doesn't rank near the best of Charles Bronson's movies (not even close) but it is a lot of fun to watch. Honorable mention: the thug in the mob running down the street with a plunger in his hand.
Thus continues Paul Kersey's journey through lands densely populated with criminals...
In this installment, yet another of Paul's friends dies at the hands of thugs. But Paul's not going to stand for it-- he'll take the law into his own hands! Again! Naturally, the dark spectre of crime follows him like a bad penny. In a single afternoon he witnesses more felonies than most of us will see in a lifetime.
Paul's new neighborhood is a checkerboard of cinder-blocked windows, bodegas, flophouses and piles of rubble. His slum is populated by various law-abiding ethnic types being tormented by a motley gang of knuckleheads who aren't willing to let Paul take control of their turf. Some of the ne'er do wells have a funny logo painted on their foreheads. By day and night they rape, pillage, murder and invade the homes of innocents.
Yet -- paradoxically -- the area remains bustling with civilized activity. In the face of danger, its citizens brazenly (or ignorantly) go about their lives. But there is a stiff penalty to pay for such defiance and only the swift arm of Paul Kersey can put it right, all the while inventing new ways to extract teeth from would-be burglars.
Classic formulaic film-making from Cannon films!
