The love story of the film reminded me of Casper and Ghost of Demi Moore in the 90s. The fun cool fight scenes are pretty much like a Jackie chan movie in the early 80, 90s along with the pretty sick behind the scene footages at the end. Overall, the two leads are very good looking and have great chemistry. The old grandpa guy is funny . You don't see them making movies like this anymore. I enjoy it.

Well, I have to be honest here, I wasn't really expecting anything from the 2022 action comedy "Kung Fu Ghost" from writer Ivan White and director Jennifer N. Linch as I sat down to watch it without ever having heard about it. But I will say that the movie's cover/poster was cheesy enough to make me give the movie a chance.
And from the moment the movie started it was painfully obvious that this was not a great movie. The dialogue in the scenes is clunky and faltering at best. Now, I don't mind accents, as it gives character for sure, but listening to Jennifer N. Linch stumble her way through the English dialogue was just toe curling. Then there was the issues of the cinematography and the camera-work, wobbly and all over the place; which didn't really give the movie a top notch professional appearance.
Now, I wasn't at all familiar with the cast ensemble in "Kung Fu Ghost", and that is usually something I enjoy when I watch a movie. But the acting performances in general in this 2022 action comedy were just subpar, and it took away from the overall enjoyment of the movie.
The characters in the movie were flaccid and one-dimensional, and it didn't help much that the acting performances were amateurish, sluggish and forced.
So stack these things up on one another, and you have a pretty amateurish movie that hardly was worth the time, money or effort. It felt like a high school drama class project brought to the screen.
My rating of "Kung Fu Ghost" lands on a very generous two out of ten stars.
Kung Fu Ghost has something for everyone, with its mix of genres-comedy, drama, action, romance, and yes, the expected and always anticipated Jennifer Linch martial arts. Along with the laughs and tears, anyone can relate to something in Kung Fu Ghost on a personal, possibly emotional note, making it all the more meaningful, memorable, and truly entertaining. I loved it!
