The Synopsis for Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005) 1080p
'Me and You and Everyone We Know' is a poetic and penetrating observation of how people struggle to connect with one another in an isolating and contemporary world. Christine Jesperson is a lonely artist and "Eldercab" driver who uses her fantastical artistic visions to draw her aspirations and objects of desire closer to her. Richard Swersey, a newly single shoe salesman and father of two boys, is prepared for amazing things to happen. But when he meets the captivating Christine, he panics. Life is not so oblique for Richard's six-year-old Robby, who is having a risqué Internet romance with a stranger, and his fourteen-year-old brother Peter who becomes the guinea pig for neighborhood girls -- practicing for their future of romance and marriage.

Me and you... is the type of movie that you can come in at any point and get into the characters and the plot.I saw it at the U.S.A. Film Festival in Dallas.I missed the beginning, and I heard a few people walked out because of a soft porn scene.I absolutely loved the movie, the actors were perfect for the parts, all of them. I noticed that I was actually sitting next to John Hawke, who was very a funny, honest character.(He was laughing too)Expect to laugh, laugh, and giggle,I was very impressed.Miranda J. is brilliant, she is a really talented actress, who plays a quirky struggling artist, very funny. This movie touches on things that we think, and feel everyday, but are scared to tell. The characters do a great job of making you feel and love each and every one of them.
"Me and You and Everyone We Know" comes across as a likable, honest, daring, straightforward and universally approachable feature. Taken as a whole, however, the movie frequently lacks focus and purpose. It tries to be a witty portray of contemporary society, human connections, personal exploration and ultimately finding love - by merging artistic individuality with motifs of conformist suburban life - but this, unfortunately, often doesn't quite work.
The movie is overly episodic and lacks coherence in character development and plot ideology. Too many ideas are thrown around without sufficient justification for their presence. At the same time, the characters lack motivation and function as almost passionless entities exploring individual struggles without any palpable focus. Unfortunately, character development in general seems to be of secondary importance - where in fact it should carry the plot - and the movie as a whole seems to be trying to create a visual and audible identity of its own where the script exists as just a minor aspect of it all.
It's not bad, though. The movie comes together in the second half (significantly better than the first one) - and the music throughout is delightful. Solid, heartwarming and smart first feature - and hopefully for Miranda July the only way to go is up.
