The Reviews for Mrs Harris Goes to Paris (2022) 720p

I love everything about how this film looks from the scenery, to the actors, the music, the script -- everything fits the storyline so perfectly.Reviewed byrannynmVote: 10/10

I enjoyed Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris and so will people who stand up for what they believe. Ada Harris is an admirable character that serves as a positive role model.

The storyline follows Ada Harris (Lesley Manville), a 1950s widowed housekeeper. After falling in love with a Dior dress, Mrs. Harris decides she must have one of them and takes off on a journey to Paris, where she discovers what she truly needs in life.

I love everything about how this film looks from the scenery, to the actors, the music, the script -- everything fits the storyline so perfectly. All the actors are fabulous; every prop is in the exact right place; there is just so much hard work put into this film and it really shows. One of the most outstanding contributions to the movie is from the writers. The script is so perfect. Mrs. Harris' story sticks out to me because, while all of the other characters are young and have years to figure out what's important to them, Mrs. Harris is already half way through her life, and still isn't truly happy. Alba Baptista who plays Natasha did an amazing job! I loved her performance so much! My favorite scene is the Dior fashion show. Everything about that scene is terrific; the dresses are beautiful, the actresses playing the models made me feel as if I was in the Dior showroom.

The message of Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris is to never give up. Mrs. Harris is determined to help the workers at Dior when she helps them strike. She is determined to buy the dress, and best of all, she never gives up.

I give Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18 plus adults. It releases in theatres on July 15, 2022. By Kendall B., KIDS FIRST!

Delightful and refreshingReviewed bytrinaboiceVote: 10/10

IN A NUTSHELL:The lovely movie was directed by Anthony Fabian with screenplay help from Carroll Cartwright and Keith Thompson, based on the popular book by Paul Gallico. It's such a breath of fresh air.

The story is about a widowed cleaning lady in 1950s London who falls madly in love with a couture Dior dress, and decides that she must have one of her own. It feels like a charming fairytale, giving audiences a fresh and lovely experience. "It's your lucky day!" is something that Mrs. Harris always says in the movie. Today is YOUR lucky day to learn more about this delicious movie.

THINGS I LIKED:Leslie Manville gives a truly stellar and even Oscar-worthy performance in this role. Her eyes literally sparkled when she held up the blue Dior dress to her delighted face. Her character comments that she loves Princess Margaret. She actually played Princess Margaret in the Emmy Award-winning TV show The Crown! She provides such depth to this character through the nuances of her facial expressions.

All of the cast members did a fantastic, perfect job.

Some of the filming was done in Budapest since many of the streets and architecture there look similar to those of Paris.

The beautiful fashion show was really fun, especially watching Mrs. Harris' childlike wonder in contrast to the bored expressions on the faces of the wealthy women who are snobby and jaded. Great work from the costume designer, Jenny Beavan!

Magical soundtrackSo many of the British phrases made me laugh. Here's an example: "All tickety-boo, Mrs. Harris." - RAF Officer (Freddie Fox)All of the characters have a backstory that adds layers that defeat stereotypes.

THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE:Nothing. I really enjoyed it. Sure, it was about female empowerment (like most movies today), but it wasn't filled with a big political agenda or an angry rant about what Hollywood thinks we should believe. That's, in part, because it's a European movie, not one slapped out of Hollywood!

I readily admit that some men might not be interested in this, but if they give it a chance, they'll be pleasantly surprised and enjoy it. Older gents will especially appreciate the old-fashioned values illustrated.

TIPS FOR PARENTS:A lot of French is spoken without subtitles.

We see some homeless men in Paris.

A person stands close to a fireplace and their clothes catch on fire.

THEMES:Follow your dreamsInvisible womenThe power of a beautiful dress!

A gentle little film reminiscent of the feel good films from the 1960's. We were just saying that this sort of movie isn't made these days, well here it is.

Nothing challenging about the storyline, acted well by all concerned. The costumes and set dressing feel right for the period. I wasn't looking to find mistakes and even if they're there, it wouldn't spoil an entertaining production.
