Wow, what a pleasant surprise this film was! This was the Australianproduction/version of Star Wars meets Mad Max meets Aliens!

The Aussies nailed this amazing low budget indie sci-fi flick, especially the tight directing and outstanding cinematography!

Director/writer/producer Shane Abbess impressed to the level of any topHollywood director, creating a vision and executing it perfectly.Absolutely stunning cinematography, visuals, special effects, sets andlocations. Editing and sound were both on point. I really felt as if Iwas watching some 100M+ budget big screen Hollywood production!

Let me clarify how and why I am so impressed - and how I rate a filmaccordingly and deserving of its merits (and not comparing it tosimilar big productions in the same genre): this was a low budget(approx 800k), independent film by a somewhat amateur director, writerand producer. Add to the mix some not-so-big B-list actors - only onebeing American and granted, the most notable in his role, Kellan Lutz. The end result was a stunning smorgasbord of visual satisfaction. Itruly hope other reviewers rate this film on its merits as I did, asit's the only fair way to rate and review a film.

Yes, the writing (particularly some of the characters dialog andcertain parts of the screenplay) could've use a little tweaking, andsome of the characters could have been cast differently, but other thanthat, this film was outstanding in every other area of critique.

Had this film actually been a big budget A-type Hollywood film with anyleading seasoned director/writer/producers, and backed by a big- namedproduction company with an A-list cast, I would have rated it adisappointing 6-7/10.

But as I rate a film on it's merits as outlined above, and get asimpressed and satisfied as I was after watching this film, it's a welldeserved 10/10 from me!

I'm really hoping a Volume 2 comes out very soon! Great job and propsto all involved in this little gem of a masterpiece!

An interesting film from start to finish, far more polished apresentation than the budget would suggest. It's a mixture of previousfilm styles like Star Wars, Alien and Mad Max but none the worse forthat with a good well paced story line.

No one will be up for an Oscar but the standard of acting was reallygood with well filled out characters that you actually grew to careabout or dislike!.Throw in some good special effects and photographytogether with a quality sound track and you've got a good film towatch. The only drawback for me was the last part of the film where itseemed an hours worth of story had been condensed into 30 minutes. Itmay be the film was cut to fit a 90 minute time span rather than 100 to120 minutes but it seemed very choppy at the end.

Any one interested in Sci Fi should find this an excellent afternoonsentertainment.

I gave it 7 due to the quality look and fx. And only 7 because of thepoor script and dialogue worthy of a run-of-the-mill Hollywood sci-fi.Being an Australian production I assume it had a relatively low budgetand I thought they did a pretty good job at making us believe the placeand story, though obviously made for the American market - withAmerican accents, moronic script and (over)acting. I find the latter tobe the downfall for many a scifi production and it baffles me why spendzillions on a movie and write a poor script to accompany it.. Its as ifit was written specifically for a dumbed-down audience which can'tdigest anything remotely intelligent. Anyway, could've been better butit is what it is.. I hope they read my review and put a bit more effortinto writing a more intelligent script and dialogue for the nextproject. Well done as far as the overall production is concerned.Cheers.
