This was a very brave film to make and the team behind it should be commended for this.
The acting was astounding and Aidan Gillen and Amanda Mealing delivered the well written dialogue in an intensely emotional way. It was real and raw and it detonated feelings even in the most stoical of viewers. It grabbed us and we were there on the journey along with the main character and right to the end. Beautifully shot capturing the colours and mood of the London streets at night and always in keeping with the storyline and dialogue. The ending was inspired. Go and see it - you won't be disappointed.

Still - Real, Raw, RealityReviewed bybreda-33-907509Vote: 10/10
The story and execution of this film has an undeniable sense of reality. Based in London, a city which was recently plagued by young offenders, looting in their masses and destroying the lives of many, striking fear into all its residents - this film couldn't have been better timed.
It is shockingly accurate; from the characters and the cast, right down to the script, illustrating a very dark and unfortunate scenario we all hope to steer clear of. The level of empathy you adopt is in the goose-bump and tears range as you are faced with the reality of the protagonist's, (Tom Carver, played by the very talented Aidan Gillen), extremely unpleasant chapter in his life, and those in the direct line of fire.
Brilliant performance from the leading cast: Aidan Gillen, Amanda Mealing, Jonathan Slinger, Elodie Yung and Sonny Green, each totally encompassing their roles as real individuals with real problems and presented in stunning cinematography which gets increasingly personal as the film moves towards its unforgettable climax, evoking a very close relationship with all of the characters.
Simon Blake had a very clear vision, equipped with a well developed script, which he's finessed into a highly celebrated first feature in the British Independent Thriller category.
Prepare for a harrowing journey as you step into the life of Tom Carver.
First to declare a conflict of interest, I have invested in this film because I saw the original play 10 or more years before and left the theatre awestruck (still have the programme). It is 10 times better on the big screen. It was made on a ridiculously small budget but watching it you would never know, it was made by a cast and crew who knew it was a film that, given a chance, would stand out with money given with belief that this is special. It starts claustrophobic and an event of injustice maybe an inevitability as a series of meetings, conversations and events take place but throughout there is the understated complexity of what it is like to be human. Real people making choices, some good, some bad, presented so the audience can understand, empathise, be frustrated and care. It is gripping. The performances all do the film justice, in particular the women and the two male leads (Aiden Gillen excelled). Watch with a few friends, I guarantee you will disagree on why which character did what when they did and you will want to watch it again (just to check you were right, but maybe you weren't?)
