There is a reason Wall-E is feature length and this is a shortReviewed bynutanaVote: 4/10

Wall-E is a beautiful parable with strong messages at its core. Smash and Grab exists because someone thinks that trains, robots and floating cities look cool.

On an ultrafuturistic planet, sentient robots are tethered servants for some powerful, controlling, unnamed entity.

The robots exist because even though the powerful entity can build cities in the sky and sleek high speed automated trains that run on elevated tracks, they are unable to design train engines that are refuelled automatically. No, the fuel must be loaded into the engine one piece at a time.

In addition, the fuel must be loaded into the engine car in enormous ore clumps that must then be jackhammered apart immediately before use. If I was designing the system I would definitely jackhammer them apart at the minesite, but I guess that's just me. Unfortunately, the trains are so sleek that the only way in or out of the engine car seems to be a small hatch, way smaller than the clumps of fuel, inconveniently located in the worst possible spot, the floor.

Regardless, the point of the trains is to transport a different energy source altogether. This seemingly more powerful energy source is not used to power the trains, even though they must take an incredible amount of energy to run. To load pallets of the powerful energy source onto the trains, they simply float the pallet in the air and it glides on. Evidently, just floating them directly up to the cities in the sky is not feasible, hence the need for the trains.

The robots are also equipped with incredibly powerful optical zoom lenses, even though they are designed to work inside of a small box.

I get that maybe I'm not supposed to overthink this cute little short, but if you set up a world where the characters have no reason to exist, how are we supposed to engage with them?

Short and sweet, what more could you wantReviewed bysaescozVote: 10/10

It's a basic and simple formula, one that has been used many times over, but it didn't take away from the fact that it was endearing and entertaining.

Two robots just wanted to high five and they went through any means to be able to do it. In the end, they get to! Yay! There is nothing else to it. The animation was great, not the best given Pixar's track record, but I didn't expect much either and what was given, wasn't disappointing.

It's a less than ten minutes but it's cute, it's entertaining and you should watch it!!!
