So, this is the perfect movie, no flaws, no errors. Only raw power. Imagine Finding nemo, but on steroids and with magic.

After Watching this movie I managed to achieve nirvana and truly feel as one with SEA DRAGON TO WHICH I GIVE MY SELF FULLY.

I was watching this film with 7 year old son, We both find it is below average. The characters like Ronny are badly created. The girl fish find him beautiful, What the heck Would you find him beautiful?

My son doesn't find it entertaining, He said that the characters have no facial expressions. All stiff, and all the fishes are learning to be legend by slaying a shark. It is just the same as the first one, a shark tale and finding Nemo rip off. It is supposed to be for the little kids like 5's but the 5 year old's would dislike it as well!

The movie is too long and when I was watching it, I stopped watching it in the middle of the movie, So did my son.

As someone who really disliked the first film, this viewer was notexpecting very much from its sequel but gave it the benefit of thedoubt as a fan of animation and because people had said it was betterthan the first film. After seeing it, it's not great or even good butit is an improvement.

The Reef 2's biggest improvement is in the animation, it's much morecolourful and polished. While the stiff and sometimes too creepycharacter designs leave much to be desired, the primary colours areincredibly vibrant and quite beautiful and the fish world is portrayedfar more imaginatively. The soundtrack is bouncy and characterful, bringing a real energy to what's happening, while the story is a littletighter in places and much less of a rip-off than the first film was-as well as actually having a nice message- and there are some funmoments like the break dancing prawns, the choreography of thejellyfish and some sly references and jokes that might mildly amuseadults.

On the other hand, the characters are stiff in movement with verylimited expressions, and some for the villain characters may be toomuch for youngsters (I've seen worse character designs certainly, butthat doesn't stop the characters from looking less than appealing). They are less than appealing in personality too, being a mix of dullstereotypes (especially the villains) or being annoying (Andy Dick'sDylan). Pi manages to be both. The voice work is certainly much moreinvolved than the voice work in the first film, with the voice actorsactually sounding like they were trying, Jamie Kennedy in particular issurprisingly good and this is coming from a non-fan. Some however dooverdo it to the point of being grating, Andy Dick being the worstoffender (then again Dick is annoying in a lot of things), and whileDrake Bell has more energy than Freddie Pinze Jnr. and he's a touchmore subtle than he was in this year's A Mouse's Tale he's a bit shrilland wooden still in places.

The script and humour have their moments, but they do lack sharpnessand come about all over the place, once again there is too much toilethumour that comes randomly and doesn't belong really in the film. Thedialogue is mostly very, very cheesy, with most of the puns inducingmore groans than laughs. The story is better executed than that of thefirst film, but does have a good deal of dull stretches that lead tolittle, it is often incredibly dumb and while it is not derivative ofother movies as such there is still an over-familiarity and a distinctlack of charm and heart. The climax is far too silly to be tense and isvery rushed as well.

In conclusion, an improvement but still not very good. 4/10 Bethany Cox
